Birding With Junior Birders – Sunday, November 14 at 8:00 am
Phillip Salzinger and Amit Kamma are young birders who each got their start at the Paideia School Bird Club. Over the past five years, they’ve recorded thousands of bird observations across the Atlanta metro area. In 2021, Amit, 17, and Phillip, 16, both won the Georgia Ornithological Society’s Young Birder’s Scholarship, using the money for camps in Colorado and Maine, respectively. They lead community bird walks at their school, Paideia, and have recently become field trip leaders for the Georgia Audubon Society. They are excited to share the joy of birding with you and your family.
This bird walk will cover the woodlands of Deepdene Park and is open to all ages and experience levels. Walking shoes are recommended but the route will not be strenuous and the pace will be slow. Beginners are welcome and binoculars may be available for loan. Birds species that we may find include woodpeckers, raptors, nuthatches, and warblers. Limited to 15 participants.
