Guided Tour of Olmsted Linear Park – An APC Phoenix Flies event

In celebration of Atlanta Preservation Center’s Phoenix Flies event, you are invited to walk with Jennie Richardson through Dellwood and the Deepdene forest Saturday, March 29 at 10:00.  Jennie will talk about the historical significance of the landscape and horticulture, and the amazing finds in Deepdene forest.

The tour will begin at the corner of South Ponce de Leon Avenue and Clifton Road. Wear seasonal clothing and sensible shoes for walking. Bring optional items such as water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, wildflower or tree guides. This tour is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. Both tours are appropriate for older children or teenagers. Your guide will have a first aid kit and cell phone for emergencies. If you bring your personal electronic devices, please mute them or turn them off. Tours will be rescheduled in case of rain or inclement weather.

Jennie Richardson is a Georgia Master Gardener (DeKalb County), an historian, Olmsted Advisory Board member, and wildflower and native plant expert.
